Lady Cougars Take Down Georgia Northwestern, Crown

Cleveland State's women's volleyball team won their last two matches, against Georgia Northwestern Techincal College and Crown College, moving to 14-5 on the season. Cleveland State defeated Georgia Northwestern with a score of 3-0 and then took down Crown College with a score of 3-1.

"We've come out with a freshness that we needed.  We've been going pretty hard all season and we took some time off over fall break and it was just what we needed to recuperate and heal and make a strong push down this home stretch," said Head Coach Randy Evans, continuing, "The season has taken its toll on our players and we've really been focusing on togetherness, energy, and positivity.  These girls have a lot on their plate with volleyball and school and as we make this last push, we're focusing on staying healthy and keeping their legs fresh."

Now on a 3 game winning streak, this is exactly what the Lady Cougars needed as they approach their matchup against Walters State in a playoff for the Region Tournament. After dropping both regular season matches to Walters State, CSCC will look to finish out the season on a high note, firing on all cylinders in preparation for the upcoming playoff.

"We are playing well right now and we have seen great improvement in our recent matches. We started off strong, had a short lull in both wins and losses, and now I believe we are playing some of our best volleyball. This is the perfect time to be at the top of our game as we head into this Saturday (10/28) with our tournament game against Walter's State."

Next up, the Lady Cougars will take on Webster University in their final home game of the regular season, this Wednesday, October, 25th at 7:00 PM.
