Cougars Win Close One Against Walters State

Cleveland State's men's basketball team won by a narrow margin over Walters State on Monday. The Cougars defeated the Senators 75-73, improving their record to 9-7 (5-4).

Leading the Cougars was Tevin Olison who scored 23 points on 8/16 shooting. Delaino Walker posted 20 points on 6/9 shooting and also had 9 rebounds. Victor Curry added 12 points, 5 rebounds while Cam Copeland contributed 5 points with 8 assists. Darius Turman also had a nice game, posting 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.   

The matchup saw 17 lead changes and had 14 instances of a tie. The Cougars largest lead all game was only 3 points while they trailed by as much as 8 points throughout the game. The score at the half was 36-34 in favor of Walters State. The Cougars held on throughout a tight second half, only missing 10 shots while outscoring the Senators 41-37.

The Cougars will take on Jackson State on January 26th, at 6:30 PM.
