CSCC NJCAA Academic All-Americans Announced

Several Cleveland State student-athletes were recognized for outstanding academic achievements through the NJCAA Academic All-American awards. Students-Athletes receive a NJCAA All-Academic Award by acquiring one of the qualifying grade-point averages. To be listed as a first team All-Academic American you must finish with a 4.00 GPA, to make the second team you must have between a 3.80-3.99 GPA and finally, to make the third team you must finish between a 3.60-3.79. Ten CSCC athletes received one of the three awards in sports including Men's Golf, Men's & Women's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Baseball and Softball.

The Cleveland State Student-Athletes honored are as follows; Jordan Smith of Women's Basketball made the All-Academic Second Team, Julia Gaither of Women's Basketball and Volleyball made the All-Academic Third Team, Kaitlin Crump of Softball made the All-Academic Second Team, Kaitlyn Essenburg of Women's Volleyball made the First Team, Kaitlyn Pickens and Lakelyn Reed of Softball made the Third and First teams, respectively. Noah Hill of Baseball made the Second Team, Shiane Stockwell and Tori Ogle of Softball both made the Third Team and Walker Malone of Men's Golf made the Third Team.

These students have displayed a strong work ethic not only on the field or court but more importantly in the classroom as well. Congratulations to these Cleveland State students as they continue to excell in athletics and academics.
