Lady Cougars Roll Past Bryan College JV

Cleveland State Women's Volleyball defeated Bryan College JV on Wednesday night, by a score of 3 sets to 0.

Finding themselves tied at 6-6 in the first set, the Lady Cougars scored 4 straight points thanks to some phonemal serves by Savannah Carrol. Bryan College responded with 4 points of their own but Cleveland State had already managed to extend their lead. The Lady Cougars did not let go of the lead for the rest of the match and with a Kirstie Williams tip and Aly Lemons kill, won set one by a score of 25-15. 

Bryan College took an early set two lead, up 5-3 over the Lady Cougars. Cleveland State comes back to take a 9-7 lead but the Lions tie it back up at 12 a piece. Ariana Smith manages to tip the ball over the net to take a 13-13 Cleveland State lead but Bryan College answers right back and ties up set two yet again at 16 a piece. The Lady Cougars managed to go on a solid run and take a consistent lead, winning set two by a score of 25-21.

Set three again saw Bryan College taking the early 5-3 lead. The scoring ceased for Bryan College for a couple of volleys as Cleveland State rolls to take a 9-5 lead. The two teams go back and forth and thanks to a Aly Lemons kill, the Lady Cougars hold on to a 13-8. Ariana Smith issues a kill and delivers a 16-10 lead for the Lady Cougars. Cleveland State goes on to win set three by a score of 25-15 and the match by 3 sets to 0.

Cleveland State is now 3-2 on the season and will take on Walters State at home on September 4th at 6:00PM.
