Cougars Compete at Berry College Invitational

Cougars Compete at Berry College Invitational

Hosted by Berry College, the field consisted mainly of NCAA Division III teams. Junior colleges Central Alabama Community College and Walters State also competed.

The team finished 19th with a two-day score of 693.

Jared Thomas was the top scorer for CSCC with individual round scores of 82 and 80.

"Jared has shown great improvement. He will have some big numbers on a few holes that will hurt his overall score, but when he gets that cleaned up, he's going to be tough to beat. He's close to breaking through."

"It was difficult losing Colbe. He has been our number one man this whole year, and it really hurts when you can't count his score. He didn't want to withdraw, because he's such a competitor. We're just glad it wasn't anything too serious."

Individual scores:

Colbe Cagle: Withdrew due to sickness

Jared Thomas: 162

Zac Bombassi: 177

Seth Ward: 181

Garrett Jones: 181

"No one played near their potential this week. It's frustrating to work so hard and feel like you're getting nothing out of it. There are two or three guys who are working on some swing changes, and they look good in practice, but we need to learn to take it to the course. This is how the process works, you put in hard work and results will come." said Head Coach Miles Moseley.

Next up for the Cougars is the Maryville College Invitational in Alcoa, TN at Egwani Farms Golf Course on Oct. 29th and 30th. This will be their final tournament of the fall.
