Cougars Defeat Campbellsville University Somerset, 70-67

Cleveland State Community College's men's basketball team held their home opener on Saturday. Taking on Campbellsville University Somerset, the Cougars came out with a 70-67 victory.

Leading the Cougars was Jonathon King, who sank 23 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal. Delaino Walker again had a nice showing, snagging another double-double, scoring 20 points, racking up 11 rebounds along with 3 assists. Domont'a Wright once again proves to show that he's a force on the boards, racking up 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. 

As a team, the Cougars shot 50% from the field, shooting 27 for 54. They also held a 15.8% in three-point shooting and a 54.2% at the free throw line.

Head Coach Lee Cigliano said, "We struggled all game to get the right energy and right level of execution we needed to be effective, but our guys did not give up and managed to find a way to get the win. We're proud of the team's perseverance."

The win now puts the Cougars at 2-2 on the season. They'll look to remain in the win column when they take on Dyersburg State Community College on Friday, November 16th at 5:30 PM.
