Cougars Edge Volunteer State, 78-73

Cleveland State's men's basketball team faced the Pioneers of Volunteer State for their second day of conference play on Saturday, winning by a score of 78-73.

Leading the Cougars was Darius Turman who tallied 24 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Jonathan King had another nice game, scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds, and a block. Delaino Walker contributed 14 points while Jaquez Hicks dropped 8 points.

The Cougars were in control for most of the game which saw only a few ties. The end of the second half contained a lot of excitement has Cleveland State fought hard to fight off Volunteer State's attempt at a comeback. Behind the performances of Darius Turman, Jonathan King and Delaino Walker, the Cougars were able to cruise to a cool 78-73 victory over the Pioneers.

The win now puts the Cougars at 4-8 (2-4) on the season. They'll look to extend their winning ways as they'll face Combine Preparatory School on January 9th, at home, at 5:30 PM EST.
