Billy Brand played NAIA Baseball for Midland University from 2017-2018. Brand was named to the ALL-GPAC First Team and also to the All-Nebraska NAIA First Team. In his career for the Warriors, Brand complied a 4-1 record with an ERA of 1.06 and 42 strikeouts in 34.0 IP.

After a decorated year at Midland University, Billy Brand transferred to the NAIA's Point University to play his final season in 2018-2019. Brand was named to the All-AAC First Team as a relief and the second team as a starter. He complied a 1.52 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 29.2 IP for the Skyhawks while winning two games.
