Baseball Sweeps Jackson State Saturday

Baseball swept a doubleheader with Jackson State 2-0 with two tight one-run games on Saturday afternoon.

The first game was a thriller, as the Cougars were able to score the game-winning run on a 7th inning Green Jays' error, winning 6-5. Tucker Mendenhall and Jonathan Hickman had two hits a piece, with Mendenhall going 2-for-4 and Hickman going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored.

The second game also came down to the wire, as Cleveland State won 3-2. Hickman recorded his third RBI on the day, driving in Mendenhall to score the game winning run in the seventh. Pete Williams also went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the game, while Ethan Walls gave up just 1 ER in 6.0 IP.

The Cougars will play Tusculum College at home on Wednesday next. The doubleheader will start at 1:00 ET.
