Baseball opens a weekend series with conference rival Columbia State at Dave Hall Field in Columbia, Tenn. on Friday. Friday's game will start at 3:00 ET and Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1:00 ET.
The Cougars are coming off a 1-1 series with Piedmont College's JV team on Tuesday. The split puts them at 15-11 on the season. They also are fourth in the TCCAA with a 6-4 conference record have won six of their last eight games.
The Chargers sit at 11-19 after winning their series with Southwest Tennessee 2-1 last Friday and Saturday. They sit at 6-6 in the conference, good for sixth in the TCCAA. They are led by Alex Carignan offensively. He is batting .344 with 25 RBI and 4 home runs this year.
After this series, Cleveland State will welcome Piedmont JV to Cougar Field on Monday. Their doubleheader with the Lions will begin at 1:00 ET.
