Baseball scored their high run total of the season to date with an 18-7 victory over Columbia State to secure a series sweep on Saturday. The win brings the Cleveland State winning streak to three games and the Cougars have also won eight of their last ten games.
SS Jonathan Hickman (2-for-4) tied a career-high, driving in five runs. 3B Rhett Baldwin (2-for-4) also tied a career-high in RBI in a game with four driven in on the day. He also scored three runs. 1B Marcial Hernandez (3-for-4) also drove in three runs. SP Ethan Walls pitched phenomenally in his start today, posting six innings of shutout baseball paired with seven strikeouts.
The Cougars next will play vs. Piedmont on Monday. Their game with the Lions will begin at 2:00 ET at Cougar Field.
