Baseball Splits with Tusculum

Baseball split a two-game series with Tusculum JV on Wednesday, bringing their record to 20-15 overall.

In the first game, the Cougars lost 8-5. LF Lance Dockery (1-for-4), SS Jonathan Hickman (2-for-4), and 2B Andrew Carpenter (2-for-4) all drove in a run in the game. CF Tucker Mendenhall was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

In the second game, Cleveland State won 4-0. DH/P Brock Browning drove in a run in his 1-for-3 day and allowed no runs in his 0.2 inning appearance on the mound. SP Matt Voda picked up his first win of the season, shutting out the Pioneers over four innings pitched and striking out two.

The Cougars will travel to Vol State this weekend for a series with the Pioneers in Gallatin, Tenn. First pitch on Friday is set for 3:00 ET.
