Baseball, after coming off of a rain-marred 1-1 series with Southwest Tennessee last weekend, will play a non-conference, single-game at Chattanooga State on Tuesday at 2:00 ET.
The Cougars, who are fourth in the TCCAA with a 25-16 overall record and 13-8 record within the conference, played a conference series with the Tigers at home on March 22nd and 23rd, which they won 2-1. Since Cleveland State took that series, Chatt State is 12-2 and has not suffered back to back losses. The Tigers are coming off of a 2-0 sweep of Dyersburg State in their last series last Thursday.
On offense, Nick Fitzgerald has the team's Triple Crown, leading the Tigers in batting average with a .455 clip, in RBI with 44, and home runs with 4. His batting average is tops in the TCCAA. Sean Cheely has also reached base and is often driven in successfully, as he is third in the conference with 52 runs scored and first with 34 stolen bases. On the mound, Landon Walker has been the team ace, leading the team in ERA with a 2.82 mark and in strikeouts with 65. Both are fourth-best in the TCCAA.
After this game, Cleveland State will play their final regular season series at Dyersburg State on Friday and Saturday. Friday's single game will start at 2:00 ET and Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1:00 ET.
