Cougs Rally to Start Series vs. Raiders Strong

Baseball got a big win in their first game of their three-game series with Roane State on Friday, defeating the Raiders 6-4.

After falling behind 4-3, the Cougars came together to rally to victory. Lance Dockery drove in the tying run with a home run in the fifth inning and also drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth with a single. Dockery was three-for-four with four RBI and a run scored in total on the day.

Alex Ray also drove in multiple runs for the Cougars, going three-for-five with two RBIs. Jonathan Hickman posted the Cougars third multi-hit game, going two-for-four with a walk at the plate.

On the mound, Jared Young earned the win after he pitched three innings of one earned run, two strikeout baseball. Justin Morris earned the save with a hitless inning of work, while Bradley Hayes also pitched 1.1 innings with no runs allowed.

The Cougars will be back in action tomorrow to close the series with the Raiders. First pitch in the doubleheader is set for 12:00 ET.
