Cougar Baseball Takes Opening Conference Loss

In Cleveland State's opening conference game loss to Motlow State walks turned out to be the name of the game.  Cougar pitchers only allowed six hits on the game but they walked 14 Buc batters in the nine inning game played on Friday March 25.

The Cougars took a short lived 2-0 lead in to the second inning but were unable to answer Motlow runs in the second, third, sixth, eighth and ninth innings.  On the day Cleveland State could only muster six hits, two each by Andre Tarver, Jacob Robinson and Ryan Stephens.  Ironically Motlow also only produced six hits in the 13-2 score.

 

What's Next

The Cougars with an overall record of 19-10 and a conference march of 5-4 are back at with Motlow on Saturday March 26 with game starts of 12 and 2 p.m. EST.  The home conference doubleheader is played on the campus of Cleveland State at Cougar Baseball field.  Admission is $8 per person to watch both games.
