FORMER COUGAR HURLER BRYCE JENKINS TAKEN IN 17TH ROUND BY NY METS
Bryce Jenkins, former Cleveland State Basball pitcher, having most recently finished his first year playing for the University of Tennessee Volunteers was drafted in the 17th round of the 2023 MLB Draft on Tuesday, July 11, by the New York Mets.
Jenkins, a 5'11" right handed pitcher from Hardin Valley Academy, played three years at Cleveland State starting 26 times in 27 appearances coming in with an 11-9 record. With a fastball, change, curve, and slider, Jenkins with a combined total of 134 innings between Cougar and Volunteer baseball, struck out 195 batters. While at the University of Tennessee, he made 18 appearances out of the bullpen.
