Larry Simcox was first drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 10th Round of the 1980 MLB Draft, but elected to play his senior season at the University of Mississippi. He was then drafted by the Houston Astros in the 9th Round of the 1981 MLB Draft. Simcox played Minor League Baseball from 1981-1983 and played for nine different Minor League teams over the course of his career. In his career, he batted .268 with 114 runs scored and 84 RBI.
