Charity Stripe Key in Cougars' Conference Opener

Men's Basketball grinded out a narrow victory over Southwest Tennessee on Saturday for their second conference victory of the season. The final score was 76-71.

Demonte Person's play at the stripe was key to the Cougars pulling away late. He made eight straight for the charity stripe, making all of his attempts in the last 1:44 of the contest. He scored 13 total points in the game and also picked up six rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

Jaquez Hicks continued his offensive tear, leading all scorers with 18 total points while grabbing a game-high ten rebounds and dishing out a couple of assists. He, Person, and a couple of others tied for the team lead with two assists a piece on the night.

The Cougars will return home on Tuesday to host Wallace State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 ET.
