Cougars Get Bounced From Tournament By Chattanooga State

Cleveland State got to the second round, but couldn't get past Chattanooga State.

The Cougars lost 101-58 at the hands of the Tigers last night in the conference playoff tournament.

Kameron Clark stepped up scoring a team high 22 points while Duvall Price had 13 and Hayden Smith rounded out the Cougars with double figures scoring 12. Hasani Rivera dominated the glass bringing down a game high 12 rebounds.

But there wasn't enough offense to overcome Chattanooga State with the Cougars missing their top two scorers Julius King, Jr. and Thaddeus Johnson due to injury. The Tigers put up triple digits led by the combination of the leagues fourth leading scorer James Williams putting in a game high 29 points and his partner in the back court Lucas Brown, Jr. scoring 27. Chattanooga State also out rebounded the Cougars by 15.

The loss ends Cleveland State's season going 13-13 overall and 9-9 in conference play.
