Cougars Can't Hang On to Defeat Volunteer State
Cleveland State went into halftime up ten on Volunteer State, but couldn't pull out the win. The Pioneers (6-8, 5-1) put together a strong second half outscoring the Cougars (3-8, 0-7) by 26 to take a 78-62 road win to remain tied at first place in the conference standings.

Jayden Nesbitt led the way for Volunteer State scoring a game high 19 points while pulling down eight rebounds. He is the second leading scorer and third leading rebounder in the conference.
For the Cougars Jeremiah Hayes had a team high 17 points, Joshua Brown also reached double figures with 11, and Ashton Munson added another 10.
Next up for Cleveland State is a road non-conference game at Tennessee Wesleyan to play their junior varsity squad this Wednesday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m.
