Men's Basketball; Cougars Travel to Chattanooga State
Cleveland State heads to Chattanooga State tonight looking for an upset.
The Cougars (5-13, 1-9) are looking for their second conference win of the season, winning against Southwest Tennessee (11-7, 5-5) last Monday before dropping a game at Jackson State (9-9, 4-6) on Saturday 88-60. The Tigers (12-5, 7-3) are one game out of first place in the conference standings and are fresh off a 92-86 conference win on Saturday against Volunteer State (9-10, 8-2), a team tied in first place.
Cleveland State is averaging 68.8 points per game with 18 of those coming from the conference's fourth leading scorer Jeremiah Hayes, who was named this past week's TCCAA region 7 co-player of the week. The Cougars are shooting 42.2% from the field, 33.6% from behind the three-point line and 68.5 percent at the free throw line while brining down 38.3 rebounds, dishing 10.7 assists and pilfering 7.1 steals per contest.
