Cross Country Teams To Race For Charity Saturday

Cleveland State Cross Country teams will have a very beneficial pre-season tune up on Saturday, not just for their team, but also for the community of Cleveland.

The Cougars will run the Race to Achieve 5K as a warm-up for their first meet at Covenant College on Friday, Aug. 30 at 6:00 ET. The Race To Achieve raises money for the Junior Achievement of the Ocoee Region. The race, according to a sponsored flyer, "benefits empowering programs for K-12 students."

The race will take place locally at Tinsley Park, located on Keith Street. The race will begin at 8:00 AM ET.

"I expect my guys to be very fast on this course," head Cross Country coach David Kyle said. "It is just a tune up for us to prepare for our first race at Covenant. I am excited to get the season started. I now have a full girls' team so I am anxious to see what they can do on Saturday as well."

Come out to Tinsley Park on Saturday morning and cheer on your Cougs as well as see a sneak preview of their roster for the 2019 season.
