Softball split a doubleheader with Walters State Sunday won their lone game on Saturday and dealt with inclement weather in their series finale.
In the first game, they won 7-2. After the Lady Cougars allowed two runs in the first inning, they responded well in the very next frame to battle back. In the bottom of the first, 1B Auburn Collake hit a three-run home run and RF Kaitlyn Crump hit a solo shot to give Cleveland State a 4-2 advantage. The Lady Cougars also scored two more runs in the bottom of the second to give them an early 6-2 cushion.
The second game was suspended due to weather in the fourth inning.
The Lady Cougars will next play on Friday at 5:00 ET as they begin a weekend series at Volunteer State.
