Lady Cougars Defeat Scots In Dominant Road Win

It was a dominant performance for Women's Basketball on Wednesday evening in Lookout Mountain, Ga. as the Lady Cougars defeated Covenant JV 96-29.

Cleveland State scored the first basket of the game and then never looked back. At one point of the evening, they scored 18 unanswered points to help pull away to their largest lead of 67 points, which came with just under a minute to go in the contest. The Lady Cougars also scored 70 of their points in the paint to just four by the Scots.

Britnay Gore led the way with a double-double, leading all scorers in points with 24 and grabbing 12 boards. Five other Cougars found themselves into double-figures, with Charisma Barner just trailing Gore in the category with 20 points of her own. Barner also led all players in rebounds with 16, a career-best, while Asjah Harrell led the game in assists with seven.

The Lady Cougars will travel to Gadsden State on Saturday with a winning streak in what will be their final contest of 2019. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 ET.
