Cleveland State Wins First Road Game This Season

The Cougars brought home a win after a road game for the first time this season.

Cleveland State (5-6, 3-3) jumped out to an early lead and didn't let Motlow State (5-12, 2-5) make it close, downing the Bucks 64-38.

The Cougars played well defensively allowing the fewest amount of points against an opponent so far this season while putting together a season high 24 steals as a team.

Jarnyria Maddox had seven steals herself and finished with a double-double scoring 12 points and securing 11 rebounds.

Jordan McCullough and Latisha Parris each scored 18 points to lead Cleveland State offensively.

With the win the Cougars moved into fifth place in the conference standings.

Up next for Cleveland State is a home game this Saturday hosting Columbia State (3-12, 3-4). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
