The Green Jays came to Cleveland State and walked out with a victory.
Jackson State (15-3, 11-3) beat the Cougars this afternoon 81-59, defeating Cleveland State (7-10, 5-7) for the second time this season.
The Green Jays turned the ball over eight less times and shot 10 percent better from the field on their way to victory.
Jackson State had a five-point lead in the first quarter, were up by 10 at halftime and outscored Cleveland State by 11 in the third. The Cougars played well in the fourth, but it wasn't enough to get back in the game.
Each team had four players score in double figures with Talyia Cawthon putting in a game high 18 points for Jackson State and Jarnyria Maddox leading the way scoring for the Cougars with 15.
Next up for Cleveland State is a make-up game hosting Roane State (14-10, 5-8) this Monday night. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
