Volleyball travels to Johnson University in Knoxville, Tenn. on Thursday after winning two of their last three games. Match time is set for 7:00 ET.

The Lady Cougars (2-4) have only faced the Lady Royals twice in their three-year history, splitting the all-time series 1-1. Johnson is 2-2 to start their season, falling to Keiser University 3-0 in their last match on Saturday. Cleveland State posted a dominate 3-0 win over Bryan JV on Tuesday in their last match.

The Lady Cougars will also square off with alumni Ariana Smith, who is a member of the 2019 Lady Royals squad. She has recorded 13 kills, 17 digs, and a team-high seven blocks in nine sets played so far this season. Smith had a decorated career for Cleveland State, as she was the first in volleyball's history to transfer to a four-year institution to play and is the program's record holder in kills, kills per set, total attacks, hitting percentage, and digs. 

After this match, the Lady Cougars will return home Friday to welcome Reinhardt JV. Match time is set for 7:00 ET.
