Volleyball opens their 2019 slate of conference matches on Tuesday as they travel to Morristown, Tenn. to face the Lady Senators of Walters State. Match time is set for 6:00 ET.
The Lady Cougars (2-8) are coming off of a tough slate of games last week, in which they suffered losses to both #16 Wallace State and 9-6 Snead State. They will look to regain momentum against their TCCAA foe with an 8-4 record. The Lady Senators started their season 5-1, but have gone 3-3 since.
Walters State posts a strong offensive game, as Olivia Oxendine, Jania Hill, and Courtney Dotson are first, second, and third in the TCCAA with 112, 89 and 74 kills, respectively. Amanda Singleton leads the TCCAA in assists with 153 and is second in digs with 117. Her teammate Alexis Wakefield is first in digs with 206. Oxendine also leads the TCCAA with 24 total blocks and total points with 142.0.
For Cleveland State, Rileigh Barbour is tied for the TCCAA lead with 18 total service aces. Celie Patterson is third with 90 assists and Aly Grace Lemons is fourth in both kills with 67 and total points with 74.0. Madeline Dasher is also fourth with 11 total blocks, while Lydia Martin is fifth with 91 digs.
After this match, Cleveland State will travel to Bryan College to face the Lady Lions JV team, who the Lady Cougars have already defeated 3-0 this season. Match time is set for 7:00 ET.
