Women's Cross Country Continues Roster Build

Cleveland State Women's Cross Country continued to add to their 2019 roster, adding local talent Angie Torres on June 26.

Torres, a Walker Valley High School graduate, ran track all four years for the Mustangs and added cross country to the mix her junior year. Her senior season, she earned a spot in the state meet in both cross country and track.

Head Coach David Kyle was pleased with the signing. "I have watched Angie run the last few years and I think if she works hard she can have a great year for us," he said. "Angie has been coached well in high school by head track and cross country coach Drew Nunnelly. Coach Nunnelly is a great coach and I know Angie has been taught all the fundamentals that will prepare her for college running. I am excited to see what the women can do this year for sure. Angie showed much excitement in signing to run at the next level. She had a favorite quote to say about running: 'Running is nothing more than a series of arguments between the part of your brain that wants to stop and the part that wants to keep going.' "
