PREVIEW: Cross Country Visits Kyle's Alma Mater

After a strong opening to their season at Covenant College's Mountaintop Invitational on Aug. 30, Cross Country is off to Florence, Ala. for the University of North Alabama Invitational on Saturday.

This is the first year the Lions will be hosting a home cross country meet. It will take place at McFarland Park, and will feature a women's 5k followed by a men's 8k. The women are set to begin at 9:30 ET, followed by the men at 9:15 ET.

This meet will be extremely special for head coach David Kyle, as he returns to his alma mater where he competed in cross country for the Lions.

The Cougars will be carrying confidence into this test, as the men and women's teams placed second and third at Covenant respectively. Diego Guzman placed first on the men's side, with Derek Gallardo and Erik Martinez rounding out the top five. Angie Torres also placed 13th on the women's side.

After this meet, Cleveland State will travel just south on I-75 for the UTC Twilight Meet at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge, Tenn. This meet is set to start at 6:30 ET on Friday, Sept. 13.
