Cross Country will race locally with some momentum Friday night as they take on University of Tennessee's Twilight Meet, which will take place at Camp Jordan Park in East Ridge, Tenn. The women will run their 5k race first at 6:30 ET, with the men following with a 7k race at 7:00 ET.

This will be a large and competitive meet for Cleveland State, with the races featuring schools from NCAA Division I, II, and III and the NAIA. Both Cleveland State teams are the only schools representing the NJCAA.

This will be the second straight meet that the Cougars will face steep competition, but they come into this meet with confidence after racing well at University of North Alabama on Saturday. Erik Martinez and Diego Guzman placed ninth and 10th in Saturday's meet, and the men's team as a whole place sixth overall. The women will continue to rely upon Angie Torres, who has been their top runner in both of the Lady Cougars' first two meets so far this season.

After this race, both teams will travel to Maryville, Tenn. to compete in the Maryville Invitational. The meet is set to start at 4:30 ET on Fri., Sept. 27.
