Both Cross Country teams will return to competition on Saturday as they tackle the Berry Invitational in Rome, Ga. The men will race their 8k at 9:00 ET, followed by the women's 6k at 10:00 ET.

The Cougars and Lady Cougars were last in action on Sept. 27 in Maryville, Tenn. at the Maryville Invitational. The men took first place overall as a team in the 8k competition, with Erik Martinez, Derek Gallardo, and Diego Guzman all finishing in the top five in second, fourth, and fifth place respectively. The women also put together good results, with sophomore Sadie Lane recording a personal best and the three newcomers in Angie Torres, Jordan Wagers, Lydia Hollis all also running well.

The field at Berry will be a tough test for both teams as it is extremely competitive. 20 different schools will be represented, including colleges from the NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and the NAIA level. The Cougars and Lady Cougars will also have a chance to compete against TCCAA foe Walters State one last time as a tune-up before the region meet.

The region meet hosted by Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn. on Oct. 25 will be the next meet that both squads will compete in. The women will compete in a 5k beginning at 10:00 ET, with the men following in an 8k at 11:00 ET.
