James M. Cigliano Cougar Room

The James M. Cigliano Cougar Room was dedicated in February, 2005. Named after James Cigliano who was employed at Cleveland State for thirty-eight years. During Cigliano’s time at Cleveland State he served in numerous positions, including the College’s Athletic Director for twenty years. Cigliano is a tremendous advocate for Cleveland State Athletics. While Athletic Director, Cigliano oversaw the College Athletics Program where each of the college athletics teams participated in an NJCAA Championship Tournament.

The Cougar Room is a pictorial representation of the College’s thirty-seven year history in athletics. “There have been so many fine individuals that have come through our athletic program, stated Cigliano. We wanted in some small way to acknowledge our student/athletes, coaches and community supporter’s contributions to Cleveland State.” The Cougar Room features all of the coaches and team photos of each of the five sports that Cleveland State participates in, which includes: baseball, women’s softball, men’s and women’s basketball and golf. In addition it also honors Cleveland State’s all-americans, state, regional and national title winners and shows a number of various sports memorabilia.
