Hickman Signs With NCAA DI Tennessee Tech

It was a huge day for one for a member of Baseball's 2020 roster on Wednesday.

Jonathan Hickman signed his letter of intent to play for Tennessee Tech University starting in 2021. His family, head coach Mike Policastro, and some of the Cleveland State players joined Hickman as he signed on campus.

Hickman, from Heritage High School, transferred into Cleveland State in January of 2019. He made an instant impact for the Cougars, leading the team with a .381 batting average while also hitting five home runs, ten doubles and driving in 39 runs. He also took the mound for the Cougars, posting a 4-1 record with a 3.44 ERA and 48 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched. Hickman also shined defensively for Cleveland State, playing shortstop with a .977 fielding percentage and just three errors in 170 chances.

"We are happy that Jonathan signed with Tech," said Policastro. "They are getting a very good two-way player who will contribute immediately."

Tennessee Tech is a NCAA Division I school located in Cookeville, Tenn. Cleveland State Athletics wishes Jonathan the best of luck as a Golden Eagle!
