PREVIEW: Lady Cougs to Face Lady Saluqis in TCCAA Quarterfinals Sunday

#3 Women's Basketball will get their 2020 postseason campaign started on Sunday, as they face #6 Southwest Tennessee in the opening round of the TCCAA Tournament. Sunday's game will tip-off at 9:00 ET.

The Lady Cougars got a huge win to earn the third seed in their last game vs. Dyersburg State to conclude their regular season last Saturday. Their record sits at 16-10 overall and 12-6 in conference play. The Lady Saluqis of Southwest Tennessee, with a 17-10 overall record and a 10-8 record in TCCAA games, concluded their regular season with a win at Roane State. They have won their last two contests.

In the regular season, Cleveland State was able to sweep Southwest Tennessee 2-0. They defeated the Lady Salquis 69-60 at home on Nov. 23 and 81-66 in Memphis, Tenn. on Feb. 1.

The Lady Cougars will hope that reigning TCCAA Player of the Week Asjah Harrell will continue to have a hot hand for their offense. The team's points and assist leader has scored double-digit points in 15 straight contests and played a huge role in Cleveland State's overtime win over the Lady Eagles last Saturday.

If the Lady Cougars win their quarterfinal matchup with Southwest Tennessee, they would advance to the semi-finals to face the winner of Chattanooga State and either Motlow State or Columbia State. That semi-final game would take place on Monday at 9:00 ET.
