Volleyball secured their third win of the season over Chattanooga State on Wednesday evening, defeating the Lady Tigers 3-1 in Chattanooga.
Cleveland State lost the first set, but rallied to win three straight for the victory.
The Lady Cougars won the second set 25-22, with Celie Patterson scoring the set-winning kill. She also had three other kills in the set, while Stephanie Burke and Hannah Collins contributing three a piece as well.
Cleveland State also won the third set 25-22. Burke secured the victory in the frame with her set-winning kill and also had three others to give her four total. Madeline Dasher showcased a strong serve in the set, recording two service aces.
The Lady Cougars closed out the game with a 25-20 victory in the fourth set. Dasher recorded three kills and two service aces in the frame, while Burke yet again recorded the set-winning kill to give her six in the set.
This victory was key for Cleveland State, as this win secured the second seed in the TCCAA Tournament on Oct. 25-26.
The Lady Cougars will next play on Tuesday at home against Southwest Virginia on Sophomore Night. Match time is set for 7:00 ET, with the ceremony beginning at 6:45 ET.
