Ryan Coe played Baseball for the Cougars from 1980-1981. During his time at Cleveland State, he accomplished the following:

  • Earned NJCAA All-American Honors in 1992
  • Earned All-District Honors in 1992
  • Earned All-Conference Honors in 1992

After playing at Cleveland State, Coe went on to play for Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. where he earned NAIA All-American Honors and was a member of the Owls' team that won the 1994 NAIA National Championship. He was then drafted by the Houston Astros in the 40th round of the 1995 MLB Draft and made his professional debut in 1995 for the Quad City River Bandits. He played two years of professional baseball before serving as the Assistant Baseball at Kennesaw State from 1998-2009. At Kennesaw State, his teams finished as Runner-Ups in the 1998 and 1998 NCAA Division II College World Series. In 2004, the Owls inducted Coe into the Kennesaw State Athletics Hall of Fame and he was one of the first two Baseball inductees.

Coe now lives in Dallas, Ga. with his wife Cara and works as a scout for the Texas Rangers, where he has seen three of his prospects earn first round honors and eight reach the MLB. He has two daughters, Lauren and Samantha.
