Game One Recap
Cleveland State softball started their conference series vs Walters State on Friday April 15 losing 4-1 in game one unable to hold the initial 1-0 lead as Hope Ingle slugged her 13th homerun of the season in the bottom of the first inning.
The Lady Senators tied the score in the second and took the lead for good in the fourth as the Cougars loaded the bases in the sixth with one out failing to score. On the game Cleveland State had four hits, the homerun by Ingle and singles from Shelby Sullivan, Carlynn Atamaniuk and Lexi Vogel.
Cleveland State starter Bailee Phillips struck out nine on the game while all four runs were unearned.
Game Two Recap
With leads of 2-1 and 4-1 the Cougars gave up two big innings to Walters, four runs in the fourth and five runs in the sixth that led to the eventual 10-7 loss.
With 11 hits on the game Cleveland State's cleanup hitter, Sullivan was 3-for-4 with three RBI's including a two-run homer in the sixth to pull the Cougars to within three. Vogel and Sarah Morris each had two hits while Ingle, Atamaniuk, Phillips and Madison Miner had one hit each.

Cougar softball with an overall record of 24-17 and a conference mark of 14-10 finish the four-game series with Walters State on Saturday April 16 with game times set for 12 and 2 p.m.
