Cleveland State Women's Volleyball defeated SW Virginia on Thursday night, by a score of 3 sets to 0.

The Lady Cougars Swept the match with three straight sets. Finding themselves down in the first set, the Lady Cougars bounced back with some phenomenal play.  Cleveland State had managed to extend their lead. The Lady Cougars did not let go of the lead for the rest of the match and won the set 25-12.

Cleveland State took an early set two lead, up 10-5 over the SW Virginia Flying Eagles. SW Virgina comes back to take a lead but the Lady Cougars managed to go on a solid run and take a consistent lead, winning set two by a score 25-21.

Set three, the two teams go back and forth but the Lady Cougars are able to hold on to their lead and pull out the set 25-22. The Lady Cougars issued 36 kills, 4 Blocks, and 54 Digs. Freshman Brianna Parks leading with 12 kills and Sophomore Megan Lee right behind her will 10 kills. Sophomore Grace Higgins lead with 2 Blocks while Sophomore Kacie Hughes pulled out 13 of the 54 digs with Freshman Maddie Husted and Sophomore Madeline Dasher with 11 digs apiece.

Cleveland State is now 4-1 on the season and will take on Chattanooga State Thursday, September 4th at 6:30PM
