Men's Basketball will open up 2020 by hosting Gadsden State on their home floor. Their tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 ET.

The Cougars (5-7, 2-3 TCCAA)  were last in action on Dec. 14 against these same Cardinals from Gadsden, Ala. Unfortunately, Cleveland State suffered a 70-59 loss on the road to Gadsden State and will look to get revenge in this upcoming contest. The Cougars are also looking to bounce back from a string of tough games in which they have gone 2-3. Gadsden State had a strong 2019 to begin their season, posting an 11-3 record. They have won seven straight games, including their last in that matchup with Cleveland State.

Cleveland State will hope that Jaquez Hicks will continue his stellar play in the new year. Hicks posted double-doubles in four of the last six games before Christmas Break and is averaging 10.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest, which are second and first on the team, respectively. Demonte Person has also been key in orchestrating the offense for the Cougars, as he has averaged 5.5 assists per game, which is fifth in the TCCAA.

After this contest, the Cougars will resume conference play as they travel to Tullahoma, Tenn. to face TCCAA-foe Motlow State. That game is set to start at 8:30 ET.
