  • Cougars Lose Double Header at Chattanooga State

    Cleveland State couldn't pull a win out at Chattanooga State. Three days after the Cougars (31-13, 19-13) split two games at home against the Tigers (36-11, 27-5) knocking them out of first place, Chattanooga State was able to take two winning game one 7-2 and game two 5-2.
  • Cougars Split Double Header Against First Place Chattanooga State

    For the second double header in a row Cleveland State knocked a team out of first place in the conference. On Wednesday the Cougars (31-11, 19-11) took a game from Walters State (35-7, 25-5) causing them to fall from the top of the standings, and this time Cleveland State defeated Chattanooga State (31-11, 25-5) putting them back down to second place.
  • Cougars Split Double Header at First Place Walters State

    Cleveland State went to first place Walters State and came back home with a split. The Cougars (30-10, 18-10) won game one 8-2, but lost the second 12-4 of their double header against the Senators (33-7, 23-5).
  • Cougars Sweep Four Game Series at Columbia State

    Cleveland State brought home four wins from Columbia State. The Cougars (29-9, 17-9) ended three of the games early via the run-rule against the Chargers (2-26, 2-30).

    Kylie Hayes was named the TCCAA pitcher of the week. She threw two complete games winning both against Roane State on back-to-back days.
  • Kristen Fowler Commits to The University of West Georgia

    Softball Student Athlete Kristen Fowler has committed to The University of Georgia to continue her education.  With two years of eligibility remaining, Fowler will play softball for the university as she studies to earn a degree in Elementary Education.  West Georgia is moving to Division One of the NCAA.
  • Cougars Sweep Roane State

    Cleveland State swept Roane State this weekend. The Cougars (25-9, 13-9) won all four games in their home conference series against the Raiders (10-22, 7-15).

    Today's softball games have been rescheduled. The Cougars were set to host Chattanooga State today in a double header, but due to the field conditions because of the weather last night the games are being moved.
  • Cougars Win Conference Series Against Motlow State 3-1

    Cleveland State won three of four in their home conference series this weekend against Motlow State. The Cougars (21-9, 9-9) pulled out a pitcher's duel in game one 2-1, beat down the Bucks 10-4 in game two, lost in extra innings 4-3 in game three and closed out the series with another double-digit offensive output winning 10-3.
  • Walters State Secures Two Close Games at Cleveland State

    Cleveland State couldn't get past the Senators pitching. Walters State (22-2, 13-1) features the top statistical pitcher in the conference and another starter that is undefeated, and it showed in their 5-0 and 6-3 wins over the Cougars (18-8, 6-8).
  • Cougars Sweep Double Header, Win Series Against Saluqis

    Cleveland State swept their double header and took the series against Southwest Tennessee 3-1. The Cougars (18-6, 6-6) won game one 8-2 and put-up double digits in game two defeating the Saluqis (15-17, 2-12) 10-6.
  • Cougars Split Double Header with Southwest Tennessee

    Cleveland State split their double header today with Southwest Tennessee. The Cougars (16-6, 4-6) lost the lead towards the end of game one losing 11-9, but shut down the Saluqis (15-15, 2-10) in all but one inning for a 13-5 win in game two.
  • Cougars Lose Series at Dyersburg State 3-1

    Cleveland State came out swinging winning game one, but lost the next three in their conference series at Dyersburg State. The Cougars (15-5, 3-5) pounded out 18 runs in their game one victory, but the Eagles (12-8, 5-5) came away with an 8-2 victory in game two, a 3-0 shutout in game three and finished off the series with an extra inning walk-off 7-6 win.

  • Cougars Split Conference Opening Series 2-2

    Cleveland State opened their conference schedule this weekend and split the series 2-2. After going undefeated in non-conference play, the Cougars (14-2, 2-2) suffered their first two losses of the season to Jackson State (6-10, 2-2), losing the second game of each day's double header.
  • Cougars Kristen Fowler Named TCCAA Player of the Week

    Kristen Fowler earned the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) player of the week honor. She went 9-13 homering four times, driving in eight runs while also scoring eight times and doubling once over a four-game span.
  • Cougars Softball Keeps Rolling

    Cleveland State softball finished their non-conference schedule undefeated. The Cougars are a perfect 12-0 on the season, most recently winning a double header at Tennessee Wesleyan JV taking game one 5-3 and game two 8-5. Cleveland State completed the home and home stand sweeping the Bulldogs in their four-game series.
  • Cougars Softball Takes Double Header, Winning First Ten Games

    Cleveland State remained undefeated after winning a home doubleheader this afternoon.  The Cougars took out Georgia Highlands 6-1 in game one and 5-3 in game two, improving to 10-0 to start the season.
  • Cougar Softball Takes Two from Calhoun

    Receiving notice earlier in the day that they had won their opening season doubleheader by forfeit due to illegal participation, Cleveland State won a home doubleheader on Thursday February 22 with scores of 10-8 and 15-7 to give them a perfect record on the season of 8-0. The Cougars used four homeruns in the two games, three by Kristen Fowler and one by Morgan Willingham to give them an eight-game winning streak.
  • Cougar Softball Wins Two vs Georgia Highlands

    With game time wind chill temperature at 29 degrees, Cougar Softball used hot bats, timely defense and gritty pitching to win a double header at Georgia Highlands 9-1 and 10-9 on Saturday February 17. On a four-game winning streak Cleveland State has moved their overall season record to 4-2.

    Cleveland State softball took both games of a double header against Tennessee Wesleyan JV. The Cougars brought their bats to the park dominating game one ending it early in five innings 10-2, while also putting up double figures in runs in game two winning 12-7.

    Cleveland State's softball games scheduled for this weekend at Calhoun Community College have been canceled due to the expected incoming inclement weather. As of now there is no plan set to reschedule the games.

    It's opening day for the Cleveland State softball team. The Cougars host the Lake Land College Lakers in a double header with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
  • Cougars Drop Both Games to Lake Land College on Opening Day

    Opening day started well for the Cougars, but they were unable to hold off the Lakers. Cleveland State (0-2) jumped out to an early lead in both games of their double header, but Lake Land College (4-0) settled in and came back in each game.
  • Cougars Softball 2024 Schedule Released

    The 2024 Cleveland State softball schedule is posted with opening day on February 4. The Cougars open their season with a double header at Gordon State College. The month of February features 10 non-conference games.
