Softball will continue conference play this weekend at home against Motlow State with a four-game series against the Lady Bucks. Friday's doubleheader begins at 2:00 ET; Saturday's at 12:00 ET.
The Lady Cougars (7-6, 2-2 conference) last played at Snead State on Tuesday, splitting a two-game series with the Lady Parsons after a thrilling 2-1 win in extra innings and a 9-1 loss.
Motlow State is 8-9 this season and also sits at 2-2 in TCCAA play. They last played on Tuesday, splitting a series with Calhoun Community College with a 6-4 loss and a 9-1 win.
Cleveland State was 2-3 against the Lady Bucks last year, losing a four-game series 1-3 on March 9 and 10, but then getting the better of Motlow in the TCCAA Tournament with a 5-2 win.
The Lady Bucks are led by Samantha King offensively. She is batting .447 (17-for-38) with a team-high 11 RBI and four home runs. Autumn Davis has been a force on the mound for Motlow State. She is second in the TCCAA with a 1.00 ERA in 21.0 IP with five strikeouts.
After this weekend series, the Lady Cougars will continue their homestand with a two-game set with West Georgia Tech on Wednesday, March 20. The doubleheader will start at 2:00 ET.
