Softball continues conference play at home against Chattanooga State on Friday and Saturday. Friday's doubleheader will start at 2:00 ET and Saturday's will start at 12:00 ET.
The Lady Cougars are coming off of a sweep of the West Georgia Tech Lady Golden Knights. They won 9-1 and 9-6 on Wednesday. These wins brought their record to 10-9. They are also currently 3-5 in conference play and will look to bring that mark to a winning record against the Lady Tigers this weekend.
Chatt State is nationally ranked, sitting at #12 in the NJCAA standings. They are 18-4 overall this season and 5-1 in TCCAA play, good for first overall in the standings. Haley Smith leads their team offensively with a .394 BA and 24 RBI, good for fourth in the TCCAA. Lindsay Modar has been at the top of their pitching staff this season, boasting a TCCAA-fifth 2.63 ERA. Brooke Parrott leads the TCCAA with 64 strikeouts.
After this series, Cleveland State will travel to Columbia State for a four-game series on Friday and Saturday. Friday's doubleheader will begin at 5:00 ET; Saturday's at 1:00 ET.
