Golf's rain-affected participation in the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational in Pine Mountain, Ga. ended with a fifth-place finish in the event. The event was combined into a two-round, one-day event on Monday instead of a tournament spanning two days due to weather.
The Cougars shot 318 in round one and 315 in round two for a two-round total of 633 to claim the fifth spot. Wes Spillers was the team's top finisher, placing 11th overall, after shooting a 153 with single-round totals of 77 and 76. Colbe Cagle also placed in the top 20, finishing tied for 20th, after posting a 78 and 80 for a total score of 158.
Cleveland State will be back in action on Mar. 16 and 17 as they travel to Foley, Ala. to compete in the Glenlake Invitational at Glenlakes Golf Club.
