Game One Recap
Cleveland State baseball opened their doubleheader vs BCA on Tuesday April 19 with a 6-5 win, banging out 12 hits as four Cougar pitchers held BCA to four hits on the game. Brett Varner took the win, his third on the year, while Bryce Houghton saved his seventh game of the season. Jake Smith started the game and tossed four innings of no-hit ball.
Jacob Robinson with three hits on the game, drove home single runs in the first and fourth innings with Bryce Jenkins and Rhett Hammontree plating runs in the second and sixth respectively. Bryce Burkey had three hits, Jenkins had two while Jaylen Jones, Avary Collins, Brandon LeJeunne and Hammontree had one each.
Game Two Recap
The Cougars used a pitch by committee to win the second game 7-0 scoring six runs in the fourth and one in the fifth as Cleveland State's pitching gave up one hit on the game. Javier Favela started and tossed three innings, while Tate Daniels the second of four pitchers took the win striking out all six batters he faced. Daniel Crabtree followed with one inning of relief with Ben Smith striking out three to end the game.
Robinson and Nick Iezzi had two hits on the game while AJ Swader, Yosuany Herrera and Matt Schultz each had one hit. Swader, Iezzi and Parker Evans plated six of the seven Cougar runs each driving in two.

Cougar baseball with an overall record of 24-20 and a conference mark of 7-13 travels to Volunteer State for a three-game conference set with a single nine inning game scheduled on Friday April 22 at 3 p.m. EST and a doubleheader on Saturday April 23 at 1 and 4 p.m. EST.
