The Cougar baseball team was unable to secure their first win of the season today in Barnesville, GA as they lost 10-5 and 10-4 in their two games against Gordon State Friday.
"We were outplayed in every phase throughout the series," head coach Mike Policastro said.
Two Cleveland State players recorded multiple RBI in the doubleheader. In the first game, 1B Caleb Hopkins went 1-for-2 with 2 RBI and a walk. In the second game, 3B Rhett Baldwin posted 2 RBI and scored a run in his 2-for-4 effort. RF Jonathan Hickman also recorded an RBI in his 2-for-3 effort. Tucker Mendenhall, in addition, went 2-for-3 in both games. He has recorded a multi-hit game in three of the four games this season.
The Cougars will be back in action on Monday, as they will play their first two home games of the season in against Union College's JV squad. The double header will get underway at 1:00 ET.
