Baseball fell 5-2 at Georgia Highlands on Tuesday afternoon.
Cleveland State put together a solid second inning, in which they scored two runs on three hits, but then were unable to capitalize with runners on the reminder of the game as they posted just five hits for the rest of it. The Chargers scored their five runs in the game in the third and fourth innings.
The middle of the order was a bright spot for the Cougars. LF Lance Dockery was 2-for-4 with an RBI and RF Jonathan Hickman was 2-for-4. Hickman also pitched one inning and allowed no hits or runs scored.
Cleveland State will return to Cougar Field on Friday when they face Jackson State in a weekend series. Their doubleheader Friday will begin at 2:00 ET.
