Mike Policastro to be Inducted into the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association Hall of Fame
Mike Policastro, a fixture in the collegiate athletic world including Head Baseball Coach and Athletics
Director at Cleveland State since 1993, will be inducted into the Tennessee Community College
Athletic Association Hall of Fame in the spring of 2025.
This will be Coach Policastro's third Hall of Fame ceremony as he is a Hall of Fame member of the
Tennessee Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and the Tennessee Wesleyan Hall of Fame. An
unparalleled administrative and baseball expert, he is also the recipient of the American Baseball
Coaches Lifetime Achievement Award.
His storied coaching career includes 1,051 wins along with four-time Coach of the Year honors.
Administratively Policastro is recognized as a driving force on 14 plus collegiate committees as well
as a consensus builder that inspires excellence in organizational structure and accomplishment.
A graduate with a Bachelor's degree from Tennessee Wesleyan University, he used his collegiate
baseball playing experience and his desire to mentor young men to success by starting his career as
an Assistant then Head Baseball Coach at Wesleyan.
In 1993 Policastro was hired as the Head Baseball Coach at Cleveland State followed by his Athletics
Director hiring in 1996. With those two specific roles he has built Cleveland State Athletics into a
program that is second to none.
Never one to shy away from an opportunity to make a positive difference he is known as a renowned
presenter at clinics and conventions. He has mentored well over 3,000 student athletes to
conference/national academic honors, four-year college scholarships and major league opportunities.
For 10 years he chaired the Athletic Directors committee of the TCCAA while seven years he was the
chair of the Baseball Committee of the TCCAA.
The Tennessee Community College Athletic Association is honored to recognize Mike Policastro as
an unrivaled professional who has excelled to the highest level of success in his career goals and
endeavors.
