Baseball swept Tusculum University's JV team in their doubleheader against the Pioneers on Wednesday.
The first game, the Cougars won 11-1 in five innings. Cleveland State's biggest blow of the game was a second inning in which they scored eight runs. They also scored three in the fourth to put away Tusculum.
SP Tanner Doran allowed no earned runs and recorded four strikeouts in 4.0 IP. LF Lance Dockery was 2-for-3 and the 2-3 punch of SS Andrew Carpenter and 3B Rhett Baldwin combined for two hits in six at-bats and five RBI.
The second game was much closer, with Cleveland State winning 5-1. Dockery drove in all five runs for the Cougars during his 2-for-3 game. He also scored a run. SP Seth Wicker allowed just one run over 4.0 IP and also struck out six.
The Cougars will travel to Roane State on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game begins at 2:00 ET and Saturday's doubleheader starts at 12:00 ET.
