Baseball fell in a conference matchup vs. Motlow State 7-5 this afternoon.
The game was neck-and-neck until the fifth inning, when Cleveland State took a 5-3 lead courtesy of RBIs from Jonathan Hickman, Lance Dockery, Caleb Hopkins, and Pete Williams. However, in the seventh inning, the Bucks struck back with four runs of their own and took a 7-5 lead that would stick until the final out.
Dockery was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of doubles. Rhett Baldwin also went 2-for-5 with a run scored. Hickman, in addition to the RBI, pitched a great game, giving up just one earned run in and recording eight strikeouts in six innings of work.
The Cougars will continue their series with Motlow State at Cougar Field tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 ET.
